The Journey So Far

It is hard to believe that ten years have passed since the birth of Cornerstone Christian Ministries. It is probably even harder to believe that it has been fifteen years since I left my native land of Nigeria. What has never been in doubt however is the faithfulness of the Lord

The journey was set in motion by a voice from heaven! I had always heard from God. What however was unique about the voice from heaven this time, was the use of the plural preposition. It was 'We' rather than 'I". It was the three persons in the Godhead together rather than the Lord Jesus Christ alone or the Holy Spirit or God the Father alone.

For a long time, I consider it a weird experience, until sometime towards the end of my first year in Bible School in California, when a guest minister alluded to a similar experience. The three persons of the Godhead had spoken to him concerning an important matter rather than just one. That allusion certainly put my mind to rest.

How and why would I have left my comfort zone for the unknown, for unchartered waters, except I was counting on the faithfulness of the Lord - the Maker of the heavens and the earth.

I cannot talk about Cornerstone Christian Ministries without mentioning a great man of God, in the person of Rev. Dr. James Boyejo. Dr. Boyejo has been instrumental in making a difference at major points in my life as well as that of my family.

Little wonder that the Lord brought him into my life again, after several years of loss of contact, in time for Cornerstone Christian Ministries to be established in October 2000.

The home front cannot be settled without the loyal commitment of godly spouse. I have been blessed to have the most supportive wife, Mrs. Omobola Adewale, on this journey.

While for the first few months of the journey, we were not physically together, (The three person of the Godhead had instructed me to leave Nigeria in haste) there was never any doubt about her dedication and commitment of my wife and best friend to the cause and to the vision expanding the kingdom of God. . The Lord will continue to bless and honor her.

It is one thing to have a supportive spouse, which is always a great blessing. However it is something else to be blessed with children who are individually supportive and committed to the journey that daddy has embarked upon, albeit they wonder why he did, and perhaps wished that he never did. To my wonderful children: Oluwatoyin Adewale, Oluwatobi Adewale, Oluwatofunmi Adewale and Toluwani Adewale, I salute and respect you for your support and sacrifice. I assure you of my undivided support in all your God-given endeavors in life.

I would want to pay homage to all the great and wonderful people of Cornerstone Christian Ministries, for their support, dedication, commitment and loyalty for the past decade. Whether you were there on the first day of October 2000 or you only joined the team last Sunday, I appreciate you, I love you, and I respect you.

In the mighty name of Jesus, together, we will fulfill the vision, we will fight a good fight, we will finish our course - gracefully and with dignity.

And yes, the vision is great and wide. The vision in geographical terms is way wider than Staten Island. It will spread all over America to every continent on the planet.

The vision is to see souls, on every continent on the planet, come to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, and believers empowered to be the best they can be in the kingdom of God, thus fulfilling their God-given destinies. "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." -Mark16:15.

As we stand at the threshold of our second decade, we join with David in saying, "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth."-Psalm 121:1-2.
